Summary of essential job functions:

The QRF Team Member responds 24/7 to security incidents on Balad air base.


Roles and responsibilities:

  • Perform the day-to-day protective security functions as specified in daily post and detail orders.
  • Driving the lead vehicle, principal's vehicle, or follow-vehicle, whenever required in motorcade or similar operations.
  • Driving follow-vehicle and/or acting as response agent.
  • Carries and operates weapons as specified in daily post and detail orders, or upon orders from the detail leader or shift leader.
  • Maintaining protective formation position during principal's walking movements
  • Participating in advance security preparations.
  • Manning the security post at principal's residence or manning the Command Post, as required.
  • Serve as a member of an Emergency Response Team / Quick Reaction Force (ERT / QRF) when assigned.
  • Perform personnel protective service detail assignments.


Desired knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Knowledge of principles and practices of security operations in the developing world.
  • Skilled in observing situations and decision-making.
  • Skilled in dealing courteously with Principals and others encountered during the course of duty.
  • Ability to pass a detailed medical evaluation and physical fitness test.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and concisely verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to operate vehicles and equipment, including nighttime operation with vision or corrected vision.
  • Ability to operate independently in remote and dangerous locations without guaranteed communications and immediate external support.
  • Ability to qualify and remain current in weapons normally carried by military and/or law enforcement officers (i. e. Semi-automatic pistols and Rifles)
  • Ability to work well in teams and in a collaborative environment.


Minimum qualifications and education requirements:

  • Must be a US Citizen with valid passport.
  • Three (3) years of related experience, gained in the employ of any national, State/Provincial, Local or commercial entities providing high threat protective services that require skills similar to those of this contract.
  • One (1) year of the three, shall include experience in protective security assignments.
  • Valid Driver's License.


Physical requirements and working conditions:

  • Previous work experience in hostile, post-conflict environments is preferred.
