Summary of essential job functions:

Responsible for all aspects of direct supervision, management and leadership of a BDOC shift comprised of CCTV Operators, Watchkeeper/Dispatchers, Linguists, associated supporting personnel and Iraqi military personnel, and the conduct of "On-the-Job' training to members of the Host Nation military in BDOC operations, specifically concerning the Iraqi BDOC Shift Officer- in-Charge.


Roles and responsibilities:

  • Directly supervise operations of assigned BDOC shift personnel.


  • Supervise the "On-the-Job" training effort and maintain records.


  • Conduct "On-the-Job" training with Iraqi Air Force Shift Officer in Charge counterpart.


  • Obtain and record information regarding tactical and administrative incidents and notify all concerned personnel in accordance with the SOP.


  • Apply sound judgement in executing operational BDOC requirements of Base Defense Plan (BDP) and the Performance of Work Statement (PWS).
  • Responsible for supporting efforts that impact security operations including coordination with Iraqi Air Force counterparts.


  • Conduct briefings to Client Management, Corporate Management, US and Iraqi Government and Political Officials as required.


  • Respond to significant events and to provide an initial first response to any such events.


  • Remain cognizant of emerging threats and vulnerabilities that may adversely impact the program and communicate them to the appropriate personnel.


  • Assist in compliance and implementation of relevant sections of ISO 18788: 'Management Systems for Private Security Operations'.
  • Assist with BDOC policy development.


  • Other duties as assigned by the BDOC Manager.


Desired knowledge, skills and abilities:

Must be thoroughly familiar with standard Base Defense Strategies.


Ability to produce clear, concise reports of sufficient quality to be presented to Clients, Corporate Management, US and Iraqi Government and Political Officials.


Excellent communications skills and ability to create and maintain positive working relationships under duress.

Strong analytical skills with ability to anticipate and mitigate issues before they develop into larger concerns.


Excellent administrative and IT skills, including organization and maintenance of records (digital and paper).




Minimum qualifications and education requirements:


  • Must have a minimum 8 years' experience gained in the employ of US Military (preferably in a combat arms MOS); a private security company in a security leadership role; other US Government Agency, or a combination thereof.
  • Must have at least 3 years leadership experience in the security field directly supervising personnel, or teams.
  • Must have a minimum 1 years' hostile deployment time gained through US Military, US Government Agency, Private Security Company, or a combination thereof.



Preferred qualifications:

         Foreign Internal Defense (FID) instructor certification or similar experience HIGHLY PREFERRRED


         Graduate of Electronic Security Systems or CCTV operations certification courses HIGHLY PREFERRED


         Security Operations Room experience within a combat theatre HIGHLY PREFERRED


         Verifiable experience as a member of a High Threat Protection Operations detail


         Knowledge of security techniques and understanding of procedures, including electronic surveillance systems, physical barriers, static guards, vehicle /personnel search methods at entry check points, defensive operations and use of (quick reaction) assets is essential.


  • Familiar with United States Air Force Security manuals and procedures.
