Summary of essential job functions:

The Roofer role is to carry out International Maintenance Assistance Program (IMAP) services at Department of State worldwide facilities. Assignments will include site visits to conduct emergency services; perform maintenance and repair as well as conduct hands-on instruction, inspection, PM and repair procedures. Complete various types of documentation and administrative duties; and will identify follow-up work for Post, local contractor, or IMAP contractor completion.


Roles and responsibilities:

  • You will visit sites to conduct emergency services; perform maintenance and repair services; test essential equipment and building systems; and conduct hands-on instruction and inspection.
  • You will conduct preventative maintenance and repair procedures.
  • You will provide service on existing roof and fade systems at worldwide properties.
  • You will work with myriad of designs, systems and waterproofing materials that include, but are not limited to, flat built-up bitumen membrane, hot-applied rubberized membrane, EPDM, sheet metal panels, terra-cotta tile, slate, various locally made materials.
  • You will perform inspection, maintenance, and repair of all roof and waterproofing systems, and other tasks as identified.
  • You will complete various types of documentation and administrative duties; and shall identify follow-up work for Post, local contractor, or IMAP contractor completion
  • You will review drawings and make redline changes as necessary.
  • You will prepare repair, inspection and other documentation reports.



100% overseas travel required


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • You must be able to plan, organize, and work independently with little direction.
  • You must have good written and oral communication skills, read and interpret data, information and documents, analyze and solve problems.
  • You must have a professional demeanor and be comfortable interacting with high level management. Previous management or leadership experience preferred.
  • You must be a self-starter, motivated to get the job done.


Minimum qualifications and education requirements:

  • You must have a High School Diploma.
  • You must have an active Top Secret Security Clearance.
  • You must have a minimum of 10 years' experience in commercial installation, maintenance, and repair of roofing systems.
  • You will need to have a valid US passport as this position involves overseas assignments.


Preferred qualifications:

  • Prior military or OCONUS experience is desired.
