Summary of essential job functions:


The job of Fire Alarm and Suppression Maintenance Superintendent was established for the purpose/s of providing supervisory work in the inspection, construction, installation, maintenance and repair of fire alarm, communications equipment and facilities including electrical and electronic installations. Performs supervisory work in the installation and maintenance of computer hardware, software and networks. Provides technical support to the Fire Department and other agencies and required.


Roles and responsibilities:


The Fire Alarm Maintenance Supervisor shall have a minimum of 10 years' experience related

to the requirements and qualifications necessary to manage and perform the tasks outlined in this contract including but not limited to:

  • Managing resources and activities necessary to inspect, test, maintain, and repair fire detection/alarm systems and suppression systems.
  • Design and install new fire alarm/suppression systems in existing facilities. Review designs and statements of work for fire alarm and suppressions systems in new construction.
  • Responsible for other duties assigned by management.


Minimum qualifications and education requirements:


  • Certified by a nationally recognized fire alarm certification organization acceptable to the authority having jurisdiction (AHJ), preferably NICET Level I, Level II, Level III, and Level IV certifications.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of principles of electronics and electricity; types, capacity, and purpose of low voltage circuits, circuit breakers, switches, fuses, regulators, relays, instruments, and meters associated with the skills and ability to inspect, test, maintain, and repair fire detection and alarm systems; interpreting instrument and meter readings; wiring diagrams, schematics, drawings and technical publications; use and purpose of applicable test equipment; safety rules and practices; environmental policies; principles of management; and operation and repair of on-site fire alarm and control system
  • Must be proficient in speaking, reading and writing English.
  • Must possess computer skills, Excel, Word, spread sheets, e-mail.
  • Must be able to understand and follow written and oral instructions.


Preferred qualifications:


  • Prior military and/or AFCAP/LOGCAP experience
  • Experience working with diverse cultures and various trade skills in an austere, hazardous environment
  • All facilities systems employees shall be maintenance journeymen or master technicians.
  • All employees must be able to fluently read, write, speak, and understand English.
